When it comes to writing a novel, my goal is to honor the story. I never consider what is “popular,” if shorter or longer chapters are “in,” or if I’m going to alienate anyone because of what I am writing – instead, it is all about the story. By honoring the story, I am respecting the reader or listener who trusts me with time they will never return. It is my responsibility as an author to constantly hone my craft to deliver the best story I possibly can. From the initial spark of an idea to the final manuscript, my heart and soul go into every word. Even as the deadline looms, I scrutinize every chapter and scene, making refinements until the very last moment to ensure nothing was left on the field. You may notice slight differences in this latest version if you already listened to Chapter 1 when I released it in December. I constantly strive to enhance the narrative, deepen connections to characters, and sharpen the plot —even if only by a degree. Enjoy the listen!
