Dark Wolf Podcast Episode 5

Rona-Lee Shimon

Jack is joined by Rona-Lee Shimon, who plays Eliza in The Terminal List: Dark Wolf.

In this conversation, Rona-Lee talks about receiving the scripts and working through the audition scenes that introduced her to Eliza’s world including the motorcycle sequence and the book market scene. She and Jack discuss what it took to prepare for a role that demanded both emotional depth and technical precision, and how her background as a ballet dancer shaped the way she approached weapons handling, movement, and action. What could have felt purely technical became something physical, disciplined, and instinctive in performance.

Rona-Lee also reflects on some of Eliza’s key moments across the season, from the bar scene and her first interactions with Ben and Raife to the café op and the leadership Eliza brings to the team. She and Jack talk about Eliza’s mentorship of Tal, her reaction to Tal’s confrontation with Landry, and how her own experience as a mother gave those moments added emotional truth.

A central part of the conversation explores Eliza’s dynamic with Ben, and the trust, tension, vulnerability, and betrayal that shape their relationship. Rona-Lee and Jack revisit the scene where Eliza follows Ben, the emotional turns in the hostel and movie theater sequences, and the brief levity before Eliza’s death that makes the loss hit even harder. They also discuss the lasting impact Eliza leaves behind, including the effect of her death on her daughter.

Jack and Rona-Lee talk about her path into acting, including her work on Fauda, and how becoming a mother has shaped the way she sees both life and performance.
