The Vietnam War had a soundtrack — blaring from radios, cranking from bars in Saigon, drifting through jungle camps, or echoing from Hueys overhead. For CRY HAVOC, I built a playlist that captures that world. It’s gritty, iconic, and steeped in atmosphere. It is not just the hits you’d expect, but deeper cuts with an edge — songs that carry the weight of the era and hint at the psychological unraveling brought by the chaos and turmoil of war. It also includes a few French and Vietnamese tracks to give it even more texture and authenticity. This is not just background noise — it’s the pulse of the novel.
Listen in and play the soundtrack to Tom Reece’s war.
